The film “A Christmas Carol” is an animated retelling of the story “A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens from 1843. It was made with computer generated images, or 3D animation, using:
– the Motion Capture technique, which allows you to capture the movements of real actors to apply them to a virtual character;
– and the performance capture technique, which allows you to capture the facial expressions of real actors to apply them to a virtual character.
The plot of the film, which has remained faithful to Dickens’ text, tells of a businessman: Scrooge, miserly and selfish, neglects his family and does not appreciate holidays such as Christmas. The story takes place right on Christmas Eve. Scrooge, like every year, thinks only of his money and his business. Returning home more angry than usual, he meets the three ghosts of Christmas: past, present and future that will lead Scrooge to repent of his selfishness and to change internally.
